Atlantic Environmental Training & On-Site Services Incorporated (AET) is a Nova Scotia company with over sixty years of experience in regulatory compliance, environmental training and project management of environmental issues. The company was established in 1998 to provide quality environmental training to environmental professionals, particularly in the area of Environmental Health and Safety.

Training courses offered by AET include the 40-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Training (HAZWOPER); Guardian Reader System™ Training (Biological Testing), BioCheck® Powder Screening Training; Environmental Awareness; Environmental Assessment Training; Environmental Liabilities and Due Diligence; Chemical & Biological Spill Response in Municipal, Provincial, Federal or Industrial Sectors; Environmental Management Systems; Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act and Regulations (TDGA) and Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS)
AET will work with a company or organization to develop and deliver courses to satisfy their specific needs within the context of the local regulatory framework.
Our staff currently hold a number of certifications including Certified Environmental Auditor, Certified Environmental Management Systems Lead Auditor, Recognized TDGA and WHMIS Trainer, NETA Certified Environmental Trainer (USA Standard), Certified Environmental Technician and DFO Certification in Engineering and Aquatic Environments.
Other areas of expertise include the development and implementation of environmental training courses, environmental auditing including ISO 14000 series audits, hazardous waste management including PCB wastes, environmental health and safety planning, pollution prevention and sustainable development, environmental project management and the development of household hazardous waste collection programs.
Objectives in Foreign Markets
AET is interested in providing environmental training to countries outside of Canada where the provision of quality training will enhance the growth of the environmental sector within both government and private industry. By working with partners in other countries we can develop and implement training that meets the needs of that particular country.
AET is also interested in the provision of other on-site services such as environmental auditing and contingency planning. Training in these selected areas is also available.

The on-site services encompass a wide range of environmental issues. We have extensive experience in the management of hazardous materials and hazardous wastes. Focus is placed on ensuring proper handling, storage, transportation and disposal in accordance with all applicable legislation.
The era of Biological warfare threats is upon this and other countries throughout the world. AET is proud to provide Emergency Response and Police Teams with the reliable testing equipment used to screen out the common biological agents such as Anthrax and Ricin. AET also has the first ‘certified’ Canadian based trainer to teach the users of the Guardian Reader System™ with the proper techniques and confidence they need to obtain accurate, reproducible screening analyses.
Environmental auditing is provided to meet the specific needs of each client. Various types of audits can be performed including compliance audits, property transfer audits and environmental management system audits.
The ISO 14000 series of environmental standards has elevated the interests of many organizations to develop an Environmental Management System (EMS). AET focuses on the completion of an EMS that meets the requirements of these international standards. AET has a Certified Environmental Auditor and Certified Environmental Management System Lead Auditor who has experience in both the auditing of EMS’s and in the development of these systems for private industry and government facilities, including large ships.
